While half of the world's population now is urban, in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, the proportions of rural people range from 55 to 70 per cent.

Training on a rural platform provided students with an understanding of health care and how it is delivered in the community. Following title screening, 360 abstracts were reviewed against inclusion and exclusion criteria and 301 abstracts were found to be irrelevant.
